It started with

“Some small musical ideas that I wrote down when I was a teenager. I carried these notes around for almost 40 years. A few years ago, in my late fifties, after I’ve done so many different projects in my career as a saxophone-player, I felt the urge to finally work on these ideas. You could say that the adult wanted the juvenile to come alive again. My compositions in it’s purest form had stand the test of time. I got much support from great musicans like saxophonist Tineke Postma and my arranger Jeroen Bohan. Tineke Postma uncouraged me to record the material with the best musicians I could find. In Mei 2017 my debut CD ‘Jazzpainter’ was released. Bassplayer, musicoloog, columnist and radiohost Hans Mantel wrote the linernotes for my CD and was interviewed in my promovideo.
To my suprise the album ‘Jazzpainter’ got much attention from Jazz radio-stations and Jazzmagazines. From the beginning of 2019 a life recording from one of my concerts is shown on Jazz TV World Wide. I’v gave many wonderfull concerts in the Netherlands with my Paavo Music Quartet, and more concerts are to come. I’m writing on new material at this moment. Hopefully it will be as succesfull as my first born CD ‘Jazzpainter’.
